6 Dreamy Daybeds

I have to confess – when I was a kid, one of my friends had a gorgeous white & brass daybed, and I was insanely jealous of her. I’ve never had a daybed, and there is no room in my house today, but I am dreaming about a putting one of these Indonesian daybed / benches from World Market on my front porch.

It speaks of lazy summer days curled up with some iced tea and a good book! {Yes, I’m really dreaming here because we’ve had no lazy days this summer!}

What is better than a daybed, you ask? Daybeds with trundles! For your guests, or your guest’s kids {let’s face it, a trundle bed is only a few inches from the floor!} This one spell casual elegance with the woven cane back and slightly worn finish. You’ll find it at Ballard Designs.

There is something about a metal daybed that just rings ‘charming’. The simple lines of the faux cast iron make this a bed that could blend into many different home styles. Made by Universal Furniture.

Most of the places you tend to find daybeds are in kids rooms. After all, they make a lot of practical sense. They are great to use in a small room because it puts the long side of a bed up against a wall and therefore gives the middle of the room more space. They also allow moms and dads to either store a second trundle bed underneath for sleepovers or you can get a daybed with storage drawers underneath to keep clothes, blankets, or mountains of stuffed animals in.

You want more you say? How about a daybed with storage and a bookcase headboard? Step right up and check out this beauty from Lea Industries…

Saving the best for last, this upholstered daybed beaut is something closer to a sofa, but I’m sure this contemporary daybed would sleep quite dreamy!

  1. Hi, there is a day bed shown on the joss & main site that I can’t find any information about. It is the first one on the top of the page. I think it is iron and has a rustic design. Please let me know where I can find information about it and how I can buy it. Thank you for helping me find this bed. Jenita
